You don't know what you don't know...
Sherlock Holmes would agree that a broad definition of due diligence is 'the investigation into the financial and commercial activities of a business in connection with the possible acquisition of an interest in that business, usually by a third party'.
At Carpenter Box we are familiar with the key drivers that point to the success or otherwise of a target business. We seek to identify at an early stage, the issues likely to impact on the successful conclusion of a deal. Where we do identify problems, we try to provide a pragmatic commercial solution rather than to automatically take the view that the transaction must fail.
The process includes the gathering, analysis and interpretation of various types of information - financial, commercial, legal and marketing information. Where appropriate, we will consult with other trusted specialists to cover discrete areas outside of our normal expertise.
