Due diligence

Sherlock Holmes would agree that a broad definition of due diligence is 'the investigation into the financial and commercial activities of a business in connection with the possible acquisition of an interest in that business, usually by a third party'.

At Carpenter Box we are familiar with the key drivers that point to the success or otherwise of a target business.  We seek to identify at an early stage, the issues likely to impact on the successful conclusion of a deal. Where we do identify problems, we try to provide a pragmatic commercial solution rather than automatically take the view that the transaction must fail.

The process includes the gathering, analysis and interpretation of various types of information - financial, commercial, legal and marketing information. Where appropriate, we will consult with industry specialists to cover discrete areas not within our expertise.  This may be when a group of companies is involved.

On the other side, we advise on business exit strategies - please follow this link.
