Get involved in the Big English Wine Easter!
Wines of Great Britain (WineGB) are running a special Easter event on the evening of Saturday 3rd April called the Big English Wine Easter.
This virtual soirée aims to support local wine producers, as well as the hospitality sector during this difficult period.
How to get involved
WineGB are inviting everyone – whether you are a producer or a wine enthusiast – to get involved on social media.
On Saturday 3rd April, between 7pm and 8pm, simply post a photo or video of yourself opening or sampling some English Wine and share on Twitter and/or Instagram with the hashtags #BEWE and #bigenglishwineeaster. Don’t forget to tag the producer of the wine in the post so they can see you’re supporting them too!
You can buy a bottle (or two) of English Wine from your local Vineyard or shop. There are so many fantastic wines for you try and this Easter weekend is the perfect opportunity.
Supporting the industry
The Big English Wine Easter initiative is supporting those in the UK drinks and hospitality industry who have been impacted by the pandemic the most. Across the weekend, producers are being encouraged to contribute a percentage of their sales to two important charities:
- The Drinks Trust which support the members of the drinks industry with services across vocational, well-being, financial and practical support.
- Hospitality Action which offers vital assistance to all who work, or have worked within hospitality in the UK.
There will also be a raffle with contributions from English producers will help to raise further funds for these charities.
As a long-term Patron and supporter of WineGB we are looking forward to taking part this weekend. Cheers!
