Happy Retirement Shohba!
After 35 years of unwavering hard work and dedication, Shohba Samuel has bid farewell to Carpenter Box. While we are sad to see Shohba go, we are excited for her as she embarks on this new chapter of her life in retirement. In this blog post, we celebrate Shohba’s impressive career at Carpenter Box, the impact she had during her time in the company, and look forward to what the future holds for this remarkable individual.
How did Shohba end up at Carpenter Box?
Shohba first arrived for an interview at Carpenter Box on the same day as the great storm of October 1987. Interviewed by former Partner; John Gilbey, Shohba impressed at her initial interview. Throughout her time at Carpenter Box, her distinctive approach to work of “saying things as they are” was invaluable.
It is a sad day for those who have worked closely with Shobha and everyone in the Business Services team in particular will miss her. Shobha has supported Associates, for a majority of her time here, but has also worked for some of the Partners on specific clients.
During her tenure, she has helped countless trainees become more knowledgeable and capable professionals by providing support and guidance, whenever it was needed. She has also worked tirelessly to help her colleagues be their best selves, leading the way with contagious enthusiasm and tireless energy.
Client Service Director, David Hopper says on Shobha’s retirement:
“She has built great relationships with staff members and clients, with some of the comments she has received from clients have been very touching. This is a testament to the way she has conducted her professional life. It won’t be a “goodbye” – just an “au revoir”. I, and many others, will continue to keep in touch. We don’t see Shobha as a colleague, we see her as a loyal and trusted friend”.
