Lest We Forget

On Sunday 11th November MHA Carpenter Box Partner Chris Coopey will be marching past the Cenotaph as part of the Remembrance Day ceremonies to mark the centenary of the end of the First World War. He will join the People’s Procession representing the firm and the Worthing & Adur Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife Sarah will be amongst 10,000 members of the public paying their respects to the fallen and those who have put themselves in harm’s way in the name of our country’s democracy.

Chris commented:

“I’m sure it will be very emotional to be a part of such a significant commemoration. Like so many others up and down the land, my family saw several casualties and their loss still resonates through the generations. My Great Uncle was only 18 when, having lost both legs, he died in a German Military Hospital. My father Harry was named after him and my youngest son carries that name forward.”

Chris will wear the chain of office of the Chamber and will also be particularly proud to wear the medals awarded to Harold Box, one of the founders of the firm. Harold survived the Great War and went into Partnership with Robert Carpenter in 1923.
