The fantastic team at the Worthing and Adur Chamber have put together a comprehensive list of local business support. These are available to help you stabilise, strengthen and grow your business. 

Business & IP Centre

Brighton & Hove City Council

Business & IP Centre (BIPC) Sussex offers free local support to entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small businesses across Sussex. It creates a hub for entrepreneurs to network. With access to over £5 million worth of industry, market and company-specific research data and analysis. You can received one-to-one expert advice sessions with intellectual property support and a programme of business events. All of this can help you imagine, start or grow your business.

Business Hothouse

The Business Hothouse offers free, expert advice and guidance to business and start-up owners in the coast-to-capital area. They provide business coaches and management consultants offer free workshops, boot camps and 1-2-1 sessions. This will help bridge your business knowledge gaps.

The Business Hothouse is a free business support programme. It is run by experts, and funded through the ERDF and HM Government

Low Carbon Across the South East (LOCASE)

The Low Carbon Across the South and East (LoCASE) programme is supported by the European Regional Development Fund. It provides a free business support programme in the South and East. Their aim is to help your business to become more competitive and profitable. Whilst also protecting the environment and encouraging low carbon solutions.

LoCASE provides grants for businesses of up to £10,000 as well as training workshops and fully funded events. Targeted business support is on offer for companies who offer ‘green’ or low carbon goods and services.

Coast to Capital

The Coast to Capital Growth Hub team provides fully-funded advice, support, investment, and strategic leadership. The goal is to help small and medium-sized enterprises drive sustainable business success and regional economic growth. They are focused on areas including West Sussex, Brighton and Hove, and East Surrey.

The Growth Relationship Team are the first point of contact for finding business support for your business. The team help you review your business and identify barriers to your growth. Subsequently, they can also direct you to solutions from the very wide range of support available. This includes funding, support programmes and specialists.

West Sussex Recover & Rise

The West Sussex councils have delivered a series of FREE online video workshops, designed to maximise the impact and accessibility of digital technologies. All the recordings are now available to view on YouTube. 

The Recover and Rise SME Digital Accelerator programme is a four-part series comprising 29 online video workshops. 

Recover and Rise helps Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) utilise digital tools and gain expert knowledge. They give advice on how best to grow their online presence. attract and retain new customers and work more productively. Workshops include:

  • Getting online 
  • Customers & Marketing 
  • Systems and Productivity 
  • Growth, Expansion and New Products

Help to Grow – University of Brighton

Help to Grow: Management Management is the government’s flagship executive development leadership and management course. It’s designed to help you to grow your business, and supports leaders and senior managers of SME businesses of any sector. It does this through a 12-week programme designed to be taken alongside full-time work. The cost is 90% funded by the Government.

The Help to Grow: Management programme is delivered by leading business schools across the UK that have been awarded the Small Business Charter (SBC) by the Chartered Association of Business Schools (CABS).

Rise – Research & Innovation

Business innovation is critical for enhancing your productivity and competitiveness. Through the RISE project, the Universities of Brighton and Sussex are offering free business innovation support to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in West Sussex. It helps progress your innovation approach. Moreover, even if you’re just getting started, or you already have an idea that you’d like to develop. RISE can help you develop unique collaborations and give you access to cutting edge technologies and approaches.
