Macmillan Coffee Morning a sweet success!
With restrictions lifting and more people returning to the office, we were thrilled to welcome back the return of our annual Macmillan Coffee Morning last week!
Sweet success
Our staff put in such an amazing effort in our Worthing and Crawley offices with generous donations given by all.
Congratulations to this year’s ‘Star Baker’ winner Natasha Gravett from our Gatwick office who scooped the top spot with her stunning creation. Well done Natasha. Next stop, the Paul Hollywood handshake!
Competitions and games
Together with our main bake-off competition, staff took part in some games and activities in exchange for donating to charity, including:
- Guess the number of sweets in a jar: Staff sent in their guesses after studying our photos of a carefully packed jar full of sweets. The keenest eye on the prize was Tabitha Nicholls winning all 469 sweets (and the jar!) for her time.
- Football cards: Staff paid 50p and chose their favourite football team on a footie-themed scratch card. Half of the prize money collected goes to whoever picks the team with the picture of a football behind the box. Congratulations to our winners Chris Reeves and John Billings who came top of the league!
A staggering £413.64 was raised from the day from a combination of online and cash donations which will go to help Macmillan Cancer Support provide specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer.
Thank you to all our amazing staff for taking part in the competitions, baking and giving so generously.
One in two of us will face cancer, and the money we have raised will help make sure no one has to face it alone. Read more about the incredible work that Macmillan does to support those with cancer on their website.
