Grants still available for small businesses and apprenticeships

The next grants panel will be January 2023

Do you have a small business in the Adur & Worthing Councils area? If so, the Adur and Worthing Business Partnership have announced a fifth round of funding for Small Business Grants and Apprenticeship Grants.

Who are the grants designed for?

These highly successful grants for small businesses in the Adur and Worthing area aim to encourage growth. Both for the local economy and to stimulate new employment opportunities. They also facilitate spend using local suppliers and retailers over national chains and discount sellers.

Small business grant

This is also available to local micro businesses with up to 10 employees, these grants of up to £2,500 require a 50% match funding contribution.

For example, if you wanted to purchase some equipment for your business at the cost of £1,500, you could apply for a grant of £750. Then match it with a personal contribution of £750. Any added VAT is not counted within the project costs and will not be refunded.

Applications with a strong green and/or sustainable element and who have not previously accessed funding will take priority.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate how the funds will develop their small business

Grant funds payment is made retrospectively, so applicants will need to ensure they have total funds available upfront and ready to start the project straight away. Once approved, applicants will be required to supply relevant paid invoices within 30 days.
