Staff go red for Charity!
Last Friday was, of course, Red Nose Day, and to get in the spirit MHA Carpenter Box staff came into the offices dressed in their best red outfit in exchange for a cash donation!
Red Nose Day is organised by the charity Comic Relief, uniting the entire nation in trying to make a difference to the lives of thousands of people across Africa and the UK who are facing terrible injustice or living in desperate poverty.
In order to raise as much money as possible for the charity, staff brought into the office a range of tasty cakes and treats for a bake sale. There was also a competitive ‘guess the number of jelly beans in a jar’, ‘guess Kirstie’s favourite cake‘ competition and football card games running throughout the day.
We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who brought in cakes, took part in the competitions and donated. Between both the Worthing and Gatwick offices we managed to raise an impressive £500 for Comic Relief!
This year over £73 million so far has been donated nationally to Comic Relief through Red Nose Day. Lenny Henry, a co-founder of Comic Relief, commented: “From the fantastic people across the UK who baked cakes, hosted parties and wore crazy outfits to work and school, to those who took on Red Nose Day challenges and donated, your money is seriously going to change lives. On behalf of everyone at Comic Relief, we cannot thank you enough.”
