VAW Trustee Club – a brand new hub for Trustees in Worthing!
We are excited to announce that we are working as the delivery partner for a brand new initiative specifically for charity trustees operating in the Worthing area. Presented by Voluntary Action Worthing and also supported by the Sussex Community Foundation, the VAW Trustee Club is a free membership hub providing networking, masterclasses and access to resources with the aim to support local trustees and charities.
Launch event – 20th July 2017
The VAW Trustee Club will officially launch with a special event on 20th July from 5pm at the beautiful St Paul’s Centre in Worthing. If you are a trustee or even thinking about becoming one, this will be your first opportunity to find out more about how the Trustee Club can support you, chat to other trustees, CEOs, Chairs and Treasures and hear from sector experts:
- Chris Coopey
Partner and Practice Director, MHA Carpenter Box (Delivery Partner)
- Margaret Bamford DL, OBE & Caroline Nicholls DL
The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
- Kevin Curley CBE
Former Chief Executive of NAVCA and Third Sector Magazine columnist and consultant

Although this is a ‘by invitation only’ launch event, if you would like to receive an invitation and are not yet known to VAW, please do contact them at firstname.lastname@example.org
Networking events – September 2017 to March 2018
Following the launch of the Trustee Club, there will be five free networking sessions taking place between September 2017 and March 2018, also hosted at St Paul’s Centre. At four of these events, our Charity and Not for Profit team will be delivering bite-sized masterclasses to help local charities improve their organisation’s governance and financial resilience. An additional event will take place during Trustees Week (13-17 November) and will feature a keynote speaker from the NCVO.
