Location: Worthing

We are looking for a Credit Controller in our Worthing office to support our Practice and Fee Book Holders. The ideal candidate will need to have good organisational skills, have strong interpersonal skills, be able to work under pressure and is results driven.

The role will include:

  • Chasing outstanding debts by telephone and email
  • Arranging payment plans with clients with approval from fee book holders
  • Maintaining Direct Debit files and ensuring all advance notices are sent out
  • Reconciliation of bank account, allocating BACS payments and cheques to client accounts
  • Taking credit and debit card payments
  • Dealing with internal queries re payments
  • Ensure that debts are paid in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity
  • Regular contact with clients to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary
  • Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avert bad debts
  • Ensure all transactions are compliant with the firms policies
  • Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms
  • Provide accurate advice on billing queries
  • Propose write off of irrecoverable debts
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting as and when required by Partners
  • Any other duties as delegated from time to time by the partners or FD
  • Monthly meetings with fee book holders to discuss debtors
  • Ensure any queries from clients are dealt with in a timely manner
