Trust Tax Assistant

Division: Trusts and Estates Team
Location: Worthing

We are looking for a Trust Tax Assistant to support the Trust & Estates Team based in our Worthing office.

Candidate requirements:
  • Accounts experience would be desirable
  • A general knowledge of taxation would be beneficial, although full training will be given
  • Excellent IT skills including good use of excel
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workloads
  • Ability to work as part of a team
The role would include:
  • Assisting with the preparation of trust accounts and the associated tax returns and calculations, from books and records provided by clients and third parties
  • Assisting with the preparation of tax repayment claims for the beneficiaries of the trust
  • Assisting with the preparation of tax returns and tax calculations for individuals
  • Assisting with the preparation of inheritance tax returns and calculations
  • Liaising and corresponding with HMRC in relation to the client’s tax affairs
  • Drafting correspondence with clients and other third parties
  • Providing support to the other members of the team
  • Ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner so that client and HMRC deadlines are met
