Karen Scott-Darling
Karen has 30 years of experience in all aspects of personal taxation. Prior to working at Carpenter Box, Karen worked for a top 6 firm of accountants for 18 years, where she trained and worked her way up to management level.
Karen’s tax expertise includes taxation of rental business, capital gains, partnership and self-employment, employments, trusts and inheritance taxes. Karen heads up the Private Client Service team and looks after a number of high net-worth clients.
Karen has in recent years done more work with local Solicitors specialising in Trust and Estate matters. As a result Karen has worked with retired clients and has a sound knowledge of later life financial needs and protecting assets. Karen is a dementia friend.
Outside the office
Karen is keen to stay fit and runs regularly with a running club. She also has a black belt in aikido! She enjoys socialising and spending time with family and friends. If she can still manage to find some spare time, she likes to do something creative such as upholstery, gardening or painting.
