Martin Hartwell
Martin joined Carpenter Box in September 2020 and brings with him over 35 years of experience in a number of areas of taxation.
He started his tax career with the, then, Inland Revenue in 1985, working in central London. After two years he left for the bright lights of the private sector and worked with a medium sized firm with whom he qualified as a CTA. In 2000, Martin was headhunted by a firm in north London to build a tax department from scratch. He worked there for over 8 years, building a tax department of 13 staff and becoming a partner.
Martin advises on both corporate and personal tax matters. On the corporate side he advises on corporate reconstructions, Research & Development tax reliefs and business structuring. As well as advising individuals and trusts on Income and Capital Gains Tax matters, Martin also handles Inheritance Tax matters and associated estate planning issues.
Outside the office
In his spare time, Martin enjoys aviation, golf, travel and military history.
