International Women’s Day at Carpenter Box 2025
International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global event celebrating the achievements of women and advocating for gender equality. In the UK, it is widely recognised across businesses, organisations, and communities, with events, discussions, and initiatives aimed at accelerating progress for women. This year’s theme, #AccelerateAction, calls for bold steps towards gender equality in workplaces and beyond.
Why is International Women’s Day on March 8?
International Women’s Day has been celebrated annually on March 8 since the early 1900s. The date was chosen to honour the contributions of women to society, inspired by movements for women’s rights and labour rights. It was officially recognised by the United Nations in 1977 and has since grown into a global movement.
Celebrating women driving change at Carpenter Box
At Carpenter Box, we take pride in recognising the incredible women within our firm who are driving change and making an impact in their roles. One such individual is Rachael Tayler, our Senior Marketing Manager, whose career journey and leadership capture the message of #AccelerateAction.
Since joining Carpenter Box in 2014, Rachael Tayler has been instrumental in shaping the firm’s brand, communications, and marketing strategy. Over the past decade, she has progressed from Marketing Assistant to Senior Marketing Manager. Her work has strengthened Carpenter Box’s presence across multiple sectors and today, we celebrate her achievements and the contributions of women across our business who continue to drive success and innovation.
Assistant to Senior Manager
Rachael’s marketing journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Marketing from Bournemouth University, followed by roles at a business awards consultancy and children’s rainwear brand. After joining Carpenter Box in 2014, she quickly gained experience in marketing campaigns, supporting priority sectors and client service teams. Her expertise led to a promotion to Marketing Executive, where she took ownership of client proposals, brand design, and event management.
In 2020, Rachael was promoted to Marketing Manager, playing a key role in navigating both internal and external communications during a challenging market period. As business conditions stabilised, she also took on a mentoring role, guiding junior team members, sharing best practices, and encouraging continuous learning within the marketing team. During this time she also played a pivotal role in Carpenter Box’s Your Voice initiative which takes ideas around staff wellbeing, development and best practice, and channels them into workable and effective ideas to improve and enhance the business.
In January 2025, Rachael stepped into the role of Senior Marketing Manager, where she now oversees branding, design, and content marketing, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to implement the firm’s marketing strategy.
What #AccelerateAction means to Rachael
When asked about this year’s theme, Rachael shared her thoughts on the importance of taking proactive steps towards gender equality in business:
“We’ve made good progress towards gender equality, but there’s still more to do. #AcceleratingAction means pushing boundaries, challenging outdated norms, and making gender equality a priority in day to day society and business. It’s about making bold decisions and providing individuals with the courage to disrupt the status quo so that equality isn’t just an idea, but a reality for everyone.”
Supporting women in business
At Carpenter Box, we are committed to fostering an inclusive workplace where women can thrive. This International Women’s Day, we celebrate Rachael and all the women at our firm who continue to drive change, innovate, and inspire future generations.
As we embrace #AccelerateAction, we encourage everyone to take meaningful steps towards gender equality – whether by mentoring, advocating, or leading by example.
