Introducing our CBCF Charity Partners
Earlier this year, colleagues across Carpenter Box were invited to nominate local charities to become Charity Partners for the Carpenter Box Charitable Foundation (CBCF). Following a round of voting, we are now pleased to introduce four fantastic organisations across our key regions that the CBCF will be supporting over the next few years.
Each of the chosen not for profits provides vital support within our local communities, and we are looking forward to building meaningful relationships with them.
Acorn Pregnancy Counselling Centre
Acorn Pregnancy Counselling Centre is a Worthing-based charity offering free, confidential and non-judgmental support for those affected by unexpected pregnancy, pregnancy loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth and baby loss, and post-abortion issues.
The charity provides one-to-one counselling for women and their partners, either in person, by phone or via Zoom. Acorn also delivers educational sessions in local schools, helping to raise awareness and provide support where it is needed most.
Grassroots Suicide Prevention
Grassroots Suicide Prevention, based in Brighton, is an award-winning charity dedicated to preventing suicide through community education, training and awareness campaigns.
The charity works to equip individuals and organisations with the skills and confidence to support those at risk of suicide, reduce stigma and encourage open conversations around mental health. Grassroots also provides digital resources, including the Stay Alive app, which offers practical support and information to those who may need it.
Moonstones
Moonstones is a Sussex-based community group supporting victims of domestic abuse by providing essential care packages to individuals and families relocating to a safer future.
They often support people moving into or out of the Crawley area, helping survivors begin again with basic household items such as air fryers, kettles, bedding and other essentials. These practical packages can make a significant difference to those rebuilding their lives after experiencing domestic abuse.
My Sisters’ House Women’s Centre
My Sisters’ House Women’s Centre is a community-based organisation in West Sussex, with centres in Bognor Regis and Chichester. The charity provides a wide range of support, resources and services for women, particularly those affected by domestic abuse, poverty, mental health challenges and barriers to employment.
Through one-to-one casework, counselling, workshops and practical support, My Sisters’ House helps women feel empowered, supported and better able to move forward.
Working together to make a difference
Having met with all four organisations, we know how pleased they are to be linking up with Carpenter Box and the CBCF. While financial donations will of course provide valuable support, each has also highlighted how important it is to raise awareness of the work they do.
By helping more people across Carpenter Box understand the support these amazing organisations provide, we can play a part in increasing their visibility within our local communities. Just as importantly, we may be able to signpost their services to someone who could benefit from their help.
The CBCF Trustees will be working closely to maximise the support we can provide to all four not for profits, whether through volunteering opportunities, internal awareness activity or fundraising initiatives. We will also be linking each organisation with the relevant Carpenter Box office, helping our teams build stronger local connections and provide support that is meaningful and practical.
About the CBCF
The Carpenter Box Charitable Foundation was established in 2009, with the support of our people, to make the firm’s charitable giving more effective.
Since its inception, the CBCF has raised over £400,000 to support small, local voluntary and community groups across the South East. The Foundation is run by Staff Trustees, alongside one Partner, who help decide how donations and grants are awarded.
The success of the CBCF is only possible thanks to the ongoing support, fundraising and commitment of our team. We are proud to continue this work through our Charity Partner programme and look forward to seeing the positive impact we can make together.
