Celebrate English Wine Week
What is English Wine Week?
It’s WineGB’s national campaign to raise awareness of English wine and its wide availability across the country. This year English Wine Week ran from Saturday 18th June to Sunday 26th June, and English wine producers ran events and promotions across the country.
Join the celebration!
English wine week offers the perfect opportunity to learn more about homegrown wines and sample something different from your usual, by visiting a local vineyard and many of these offer guided tours. These tours are a great opportunity to see how the fruit is turned into that wonderful wine we love. In addition, many vineyards offer wine tasting, sparkling afternoon tea and a cheese board paired, what’s not to like about that!?
There are vineyards in nearly every county of England. Much of the acreage lies in the southeast part of England, and more specifically, Kent, Sussex, Surrey and Hampshire.
Where can you buy English wine?
Of course, you can buy from local vineyards, supermarkets, and independent wine merchants. However, you can also sample a glass or two in hotels, pubs and restaurants and celebrate in style.
