Mental Health Awareness Week 2026
Mental Health Awareness Week brings people together across the world to raise awareness of the importance of mental wellbeing. This year’s theme is action, highlighting that while awareness is essential, taking meaningful steps is what helps drive real change.
Our Mental Health Awareness Week activities
Carpenter Box marked the awareness week by hosting a range of activities designed to encourage colleagues to get active. Physical activity can help reduce stress by giving the body a natural outlet to release tension and reset the mind, making it a fitting theme for this year’s efforts. Organised by our Mental Health Champions, each event supported physical wellbeing while also encouraging open and supportive conversations about mental health.
Steps challenge
We ran a week‑long steps challenge from 11–17th May, inviting colleagues to donate £2 to our own charitable foundation to participate, and to log their daily steps on their tracker of choice. Participants recorded their totals throughout the week, with the highest stepper from different offices recognised at the end. See our step challenge winners below.

Lunchtime walks
We held lunchtime walks across several offices over the week, giving colleagues a chance to get outside, boost their step count and spend time together during the week’s activities.

Wear It Green Day
On Thursday 14th May, it was ‘Wear It Green Day’. Staff were encouraged to wear green, the recognised colour of mental health awareness, either in the office or at home. By taking part, we showed our support for those affected by mental health challenges and highlighted the importance of looking after both ourselves and the people around us.
Mental Health Champions
At Carpenter Box, we are proud to have our own dedicated group within our team, the Mental Health Champions. Each member has completed mental health awareness training and are prepared to listen with empathy and offer guidance on wellbeing matters. They play an important part in supporting our commitment to staff mental health by providing resources and assistance that help sustain our overall wellbeing.
Mental Health Awareness Week was a positive moment for Carpenter Box, creating space during the working day for colleagues to step away from the office, connect with one another, and support their wellbeing together.
These activities reflect our broader commitment to creating a workplace that understands and supports mental health, and where everyone feels included and valued.
